New visual identity work for Boultbee Brooks Real Estate and their latest development Aztec West in Bristol!
Aztec West is the latest commercial workspace being offered by property developer Boultbee Brooks, and is a modern open-plan building on a well-established business park. With that in mind, the workspace needed to appeal to a wide, corporate audience whilst feeling contemporary, fresh and unique compared to the other buildings on the business park.
To create the logo marque we create a bespoke typeface that was inspired by industrial typography and the idea of connections/network. This then inspired a patterning system, which was created from an ‘AW’ ligature which was used throughout a number of deliverables. Certain letters in the typography set were then inspired by this ligature, using the main angle found in ligature to create the letters, keeping everything consistent.
The pattern, which has been used in all marketing materials such as brochures and signage, was devised from the bespoke typography to create a sense of network - all inspired by the junction that the business park sits on (a very well connected place). We also developed a pattern for a mural which will live within the building, which is a much more abstract, modern and geometric interpretation of the original pattern we created.
Tying the visual identity together is a neutral colour palette, derived from the building itself. The peachy tones will be found in the reception area, whilst the bright orange was taken from an existing coloured wall found in the building.
The visual identity is soon to be rolled out on to signage, brochures, social media and wayfinding, and will be live as a project on our site very soon!
