Build – Blood, Sweat & 11 Years

In 2012, we staged a celebratory anniversary exhibition, of selected prints and posters produced by the studio since 2001. Located within London’s Truman Brewery on Brick Lane, the show was part of the London Design Festival. We also hosted a series of very successful ‘curators talks’ led by founder Michael C. Place, explaining the history of the studio and his design process.

We commissioned simple custom perspex frames to compliment both the work and the (very industrial) space, and produced a  printed catalogue with foreword by Adrian Shaughnessy and photo-essay by Benjamin Grillon, to accompany the show.

We also collaborated with architects Studio Octopi & hi-end carpenters Aldworth, James & Bond to produce a bespoke table, a beautiful and very practical centrepiece to the space. Open for a week, we operated as a gallery/shop and we had many visitors who came in as curious passers-by, and left armed with a piece of Build history to adorn their walls.
